  • Call to Order: Meeting called to order at 2:03pm
    • In Attendence: Chris Danforth, JT Halbert, Katrina LaCurts, Aaron Lott, Yabing Mai, Dave McClendon, Bob Shuttleworth, Suzanne Sindi
  • Welcome and Introduction
  • New Business: Graduation Conference Progress
    • Participants
      • This conference is open to everyone graduating: undergraduate, masters and PhD's
      • Spotlight Talks Longer than 20 Minutes? - Several suggestions for 20 minutes, make a special session
      • Undergraduates - Would there be interest? (Katrina LaCurts: There are some undergraduates that would be interested - Bill Goldman, Undergraduate Honors Students.)
      • RIT Involvement - (JT; not too much of a response - he will continue to work with the RIT)
      • Panel Discussion - (Suzanne) Not too much response, will focus more on the local people (Sarah Brown, Gustavo) Recent graduates from STAT program.
    • Funding
      • GSG Proposal: $500, Bob Shuttleworth
      • SIAM ($400): Jeff Cooper has the SIAM funds
    • Advertising
      • Will have flyers and poster to be displayed (Aaron will take the lead on this)
      • Emails: Chris Danforth will email the other graduate students.
    • Scheduling
      • April 21 - Need to move the date because of Religious Holidays.
      • March 10 - (Friday) the deadline for people to let us know if they are interested in participating
    • Website
      • JT and Aaron Lott will be developing the conference
      • Will have links on all the major department websites: Math, AMSC, Math Club, AWM
    • Allocation of Responsibilities
      • Chris Danforth: Draft an email - that will go out to all the graduate students.
      • Bob Shuttleworth: Continue to work to secure funds.
      • Katrina LaCurts: Send out an email to undergraduates in honors program, Bill Goldman. (Will send out an email in the next couple of weeks.)
      • JT Halbert: Continue to work with the RIT Groups to get them involved; Attend the Math Club meeting in two weeks.
      • Aaron Lott: Making a poster/flyers for the Conference
      • Suzanne Sindi: Continue to recruit local people to participate in the panel discussion.
      • Dave McClendon: Reserve the conference room (Math 3206) and computer and materials for the room.
      • Joanna Pressley and Qing Xia: Finding out who is graduating.
      • Yabing Mai: Contacting the professors in Statistics and work to involve statistics students.
    • Miscellaneous
      • Making the Conference more professional: Having a printed booklet with all the names, abstracts, information about where people will be in the future
      • Options: We can either have CSCAM print the schedules as their donation or have the campus printing center.
      • Will work to advertise a Workshop on Public Speaking (JT Halbert)
