Three postdoc positions at Colorado State, Florida State, and Penn State Universities

Three postdoc positions starting August 15, 2009 and lasting at least 2 years are available, one each at Colorado State, Florida State, and Penn State, for a collaborative effort in regional ocean modeling led by Qiang Du (Penn State University), Don Estep (Colorado State University), and Max Gunzburger (Florida State University). In addition, candidates hired for these positions will closely collaborate with Todd Ringler at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Potential projects include developing algorithms for modeling interactions between parameterized and fully-resolved dynamic and tracer models; verifiable, goal-oriented regional mesh refinement strategies; time-stepping schemes for variable resolution spatial discretizations; and frequency-dependent eddy viscosity models.

A background in areas related to these types of activities is desirable as is some knowledge of the applications problems to be considered.

Those interested in applying for any of the three positions should send, via email, their CV and have two or three letters of reference sent, also via email, to gunzburg@fsu.edu. Only materials submitted in this electronic manner will be considered. Applications will be considered until the positions are filled.

CSU, FSU, and PSU are Equal Opportunity Employers. Applications from minority and female candidates are especially encouraged.
