Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computation

The Department of Mathematics of the Georgia Institute of Technology has a three-year postdoctoral position available, beginning August 2007, in the field of Applied Dynamical Systems. Special consideration will be given to applicants with some experience in mathematical ecology, mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, and/or dynamical systems on networks. This position will include teaching one course per semester.

Georgia Tech's Mathematics department, with its Center for Dynamical Systems and Nonlinear Studies, along with a new Program in Applied and Biological Contemporary Mathematics, offers a rich and stimulating research environment for young researchers. Georgia Tech's Biology department has strong research groups in Ecology and Bioinformatics, and is quickly becoming a major player in Integrative Biological Systems. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control is located just several miles from the Georgia Tech campus. The postdoc will interact with researchers from across all of campus and the Atlanta area.

Applicants should send application materials to APPDYNPOSTDOC@math.gatech.edu. Please send a curriculum vita, a two- page research summary, and arrange for four letters of reference to be sent as soon as possible. All applications must be submitted electronically.

Full consideration will be given to those applications received by February 1, 2007; however, all applications will be given consideration until the available position is filled.

The Georgia Institute of Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Veterans, minorities, women, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
