Applied Statistics Qualifying Exams
All Ph.D. and M.S. without Thesis students in the Applied Statistics (AS) concentration are required to pass
2 written qualifying exams and complete 1 data analysis project.
- The first exam is the
Mathematical Statistics written examination
prepared by the STAT program.
- The second exam is Applied Statistics written examination in the AMSC program, which
consists of
- 3 problems in STAT 740-741 taken from the Applied Statistics written examination for the STAT program
- 3 problems in most recently offered core Multivariate Statistics course
- STAT 750
- BIOM 621
- BMGT 882
- EDMS 771
- The Data Analysis Project (AMSC 762).
All exams and courses will be evaluated at the Ph.D. or Masters level.
