Applied Statistics Qualifying Exams

All Ph.D. and M.S. without Thesis students in the Applied Statistics (AS) concentration are required to pass 2 written qualifying exams and complete 1 data analysis project.
  • The first exam is the Mathematical Statistics written examination prepared by the STAT program.
  • The second exam is Applied Statistics written examination in the AMSC program, which consists of
    • 3 problems in STAT 740-741 taken from the Applied Statistics written examination for the STAT program
    • 3 problems in most recently offered core Multivariate Statistics course
      • STAT 750
      • BIOM 621
      • BMGT 882
      • EDMS 771
  • The Data Analysis Project (AMSC 762).

All exams and courses will be evaluated at the Ph.D. or Masters level.
